Automotive program welcomes new teacher + curriculum

Mr. Jason Ryan

The Area Technology Center would like to welcome new Automotive Instructor Mr. Jason Ryan to our team! The Automotive program teaches students the fundamentals of automotives, including everything from how to diagnose issues, disassembling and reassembling parts, how to inspect and repair problems, using the correct tools and equipment, and developing proper work habits.

Mr. Ryan has been in the automotive industry for 25 years. He opened up his own business in 1998 for automotive and heavy truck repair, as well as automatic transmission repair; and he has worked in the heavy truck industry since 2010. Mr. Ryan is ASE certified in automotive, EPA 608 HVAC certified, 609 Mobile HVAC certified, and DOT certified in brake repair. Those certifications mean that he is highly qualified to ensure our Automotive students are prepared to enter the workforce with the skills they need to get a job – and succeed.

Mr. Ryan is also a Bullitt Central graduate, and completed our Automotive program himself between 1994-1996.

“This program helped me in school, and I hope my students can learn from my experience,” says Mr. Ryan. “I want to see them succeed in this industry.”

In addition to teaching the basics of automotives, Mr. Ryan also aims to cover more hybrid technology, as well as some diesel technology, to prepare students for the ever-changing world of automotives.
