Social Workers

Bullitt County Public Schools has three social workers who provide a wide range of services to students and their families.  They serve as home-school-community liaisons working with children, parents, teachers, and community agencies to promote a successful school experience for all children in Bullitt County Schools.  Services include home visitation, group work, assessment and short-term counseling, parent education and support, referral to community service providers, attendance improvement, and development of programs and resources to meet the emotional, social, and physical needs of students.

Berneice Nyarko is the social worker assigned to assist students at all North End Schools; North Bullitt High, Hebron Middle, Zoneton Middle, Brooks Elementary, Freedom Elementary, Maryville Elementary, and Overdale Elementary. She is also the district's Title IX Coordinator. Ms. Nyarko ensures that staff and students are trained in harassment/discrimination law, policy, and procedures, and investigates allegations of harassment and discrimination for the district. Ms. Nyarko is also responsible for the Civil Right Data Collection Survey.

Jennifer Ballard is the social worker assigned to assist students at Riverview Opportunity Center as well as all Central Area Schools; Bullitt Central High, Bernheim Middle, and Bullitt Lick Middle.  Mrs. Ballard provides attendance interventions for all middle and high school students. Mrs. Ballard is also the designated court liaison for the district.

Tiffany Reynolds is the social worker assigned to assist students at all East End Schools; Bullitt East High, Eastside Middle, Mt. Washington Middle, Crossroads Elementary, Mt. Washington Elementary, Old Mill Elementary and Pleasant Grove Elementary as well as the Teenage Pregnancy Program. Ms. Reynolds is also the coordinator for the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Program for all schools in the district.

BCPS is currently looking for an additional social worker assigned to assist students and their families at all the elementary schools; Brooks Elementary, Freedom Elementary, Maryville Elementary, Overdale Elementary, Cedar Grove Elementary, Lebanon Junction Elementary, Nichols Elementary, Roby Elementary, Shepherdsville Elementary, Crossroads Elementary, Mt. Washington Elementary, Old Mill Elementary and Pleasant Grove Elementary. This individual would also help support the District Novice Elimination Plan for elementary schools.
