The 2017-2018 school year will begin with Ann Ford as Zoneton Middle School’s new principal.
“I am thrilled to be working with students, staff, parents, and the Hillview community to build an even stronger culture of school spirit,” she said.
Ford spent the past school year serving as interim principal. District Director of Elementary Education Adrienne Usher said she, “Took the reins and provided a solid foundation during a transitional year to maintain the Zoneton Strong culture and high expectations for academics. Mrs. Ford will continue to provide the knowledge and leadership skills for consistency and continuity for the students, staff and the community of Zoneton.”
Ford has invested eight years as a Zoneton Timberwolf and feels every year she has gained a greater understanding of the hopes and dreams the community has for its children.
“I want to continue working with the school staff, families, and the community to nurture confidence in our students and to help them gain an understanding of all they can accomplish,” she affirmed.
Noting that the school motto is Zoneton Strong, Ford said strength comes from the hard work and effort of students, the collaboration of teachers and parents and community support.
“The past year, students have grown in school spirit, empathy toward others, and academic achievement,” she said. “I want to continue growing in these areas and build a stronger relationship with the families and community of Hillview.”
Bullitt County Public Schools Superintendent Keith Davis praised Ford’s leadership.
“Ms. Ford has done an excellent job this past year as interim principal, leading the school toward an innovative path when she could have just stayed the course,” Davis said. “I am pleased she will be given the chance to build on what Zoneton has accomplished the past few years.”
